Neurofeedback with medical supervision

Each patient who is interested in Neurofeedback at the BrainBalance Institute comes with an individual biography. The patient’s mental needs are being clarified in a detailed interview about the medical history by our specialist in neurology and psychiatry. If our specialist recommends Neurofeedback, one of our therapists will be called in for a mutual interview. The result from the interview is summarized and the therapy strategy will be discussed. Furthermore, it is determined whether or which diagnostic is necessary so that we can customize Neurofeedback individually to your needs. Additionally, Neurofeedback will be introduced to the patient with a test session. Afterwards the patient and the therapist will work out a treatment plan together and set dates for subsequent sessions.

Therapy length

One Neurofeedback session lasts about 45 minutes. A successful therapy takes about 20-40 sessions, for some specific disorders more sessions might be needed. We advise two sessions once a week in the learning phase, afterwards one session per week. The therapy starts with a medical interview with our specialist for neurology and psychiatry.  The procedure of Neurofeedback will be explained and you will be discussing your medical history, so we can provide the best possible therapy for you.

After every session you a receive a fee note. Please pay directly in our office with cash or cash free with debit or credit card.

Reimbursement of costs

Our fee notes which include a medical service, can be submitted to your health insurance. Unfortunately, neurofeedback sessions are not reimbursable by the statutory health insurance. Although private supplementary insurances may cover part of the treatment costs. Please ask your insurance company. A prescription for Neurofeedback can be issued by our specialist if necessary.

Cancellation conditions

If you cancel 48h before the appointment you won’t be charged for the session. If you cancel 24h before the appointment 50% of the fee note will be charged. If you cancel less than 24h before the appointment you will be charged the full price.
